OUR AIM:
The Scottish Sports Horse is a breeder’s organisation, which is recognised by the World Breeding Federation of Sports Horses and by the European Union. It promotes the breeding of the very best show jumpers, dressage horses and event horses. These horses (including ponies) must have correct conformation, athletic movement, soundness and a willing temperament.
The SSH is forward thinking in its approach:-
* The SSH has an “Open” studbook and any animal can therefore be registered with the SSH
* Professional overseas judges are always used, they know no-one and owe no-one any favours!
* Horses are graded loose
* Stallions can only be Approved after 4 years during which time they must prove themselves
X rays, fertility tests and DNA testing are all part of the SSH approach.
These are just some of the reasons that make the SSH the leading Breeder’s Organisation in the UK.
